    ANSWERS

Can I provide my own fabric?
    Yes, with some restrictions.
Fabric must first be approved by us to ensure it is of suitable quality for upholstery. Any material provided by a client will not be covered under our warranty, as we do not know of the source or quality testing.
PLEASE NOTE: All projects with material provided by the client is subject to a "COM" fee that is to be determined.

How do I get an estimate of the cost?
The most accurate way for us to provide you with a free quote is to email us a few photographs of your piece.

Please include the basic dimensions. Send to pistolnikdesigns@gmail.com

    Is my piece worth reupholstering?

Reupholstering a sofa instead of replacing it can potentially save you money, but the cost isn't usually the most important element of the decision.
Hiring a good upholsterer can be as expensive as buying a new high end piece, so the things that make the job worth it are more personal -- like the sofa's sentimental value, suitability for your space and the frame quality.
Furniture reupholstery also keeps the frame out of the landfill, making it the eco-conscious thing to do. If the sofa was cheap and low-quality to begin with, though, reupholstering it is probably a poor use of money.

Why should I re-upholster, if it’s cheaper to buy something new from a box store?

Unfortunately, we are living in a disposable society. The current lifespan of most retail furniture only averages about 5 years.
However, new upholstery can offer your furniture a life span of 5 to 20 years.

    How much does upholstery cost?

This can vary widely. Our prices start at $65-$175 for basic dining room chairs all the way up to $1295 + for the labour of a sofa.
Every project has different time and labour requirements which will affect your final price tag. Fabric also has a big impact on cost.
On average, a full rebuild of a 3 seat sofa with materials can be $2500-$4800 before taxes.

Q: Do you refinish wood furniture?

We can touch up a few scratches and marks on your furniture, but we do not fully refinish wood pieces.
However, we're happy to make some recommendations to local furniture refinishers.

Q: How long do I have to wait?

A: It depends on your project. Generally, a smaller piece can be completed within a week or so.
Larger pieces will need more time. We generally advise a month turnaround to be on the safe side.

PLEASE NOTE: we often have a waitlist of previously scheduled clients anywhere from 2-4 months in length before we can get to your project.
